La Storia

A little history of our choir

In 1964 some young people keen about singing helped by the priest Don Piero Pointinger and coordinated by the choral director Emilio Spreafico

founded the

To the first limited group of volunteers joined then other singers and so the choir took more consistency, improved its performances and tried his hand in events of a certain commitment such as contests and choral festivals.

In 2002 the City Council of Brivio assigned to the choir the headquarters in Via Vittorio Emanuele II, that in 2012 has been moved to a most suitable site.

During the more than forty-five-year life of the choir many things have changed and now the choir consists of thirty singers from different countries in the area. The choir's repertoire is now quite extensive and includes popular tunes, alpine songs, military songs, folk and religious songs, all carried out by four male voices.

In recent years the choir has been able to demonstrate its rendition ability performing in events in various locations in Lombardy; the choir sang in the basilicas of St. Rita da Cascia in Umbria and Superga in Turin, in the concert hall on the caves of Postojna in Slovenia, at the festival of Spiez in Switzerland, has taken part in the international exhibition "Music and Theatre" in Liguria and in television programs. The choir has also arranged choral festivals in which he took part together with qualified Lombard choirs.

Significant has been the A.N.A. choral exhibition of the province of Lecco on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of its establishment.

The repertoire of the choir also includes a section dedicated to junior high schools explaining the choral singing and popularising the Alpine traditions.

The choir also takes actively part in concerts, in charity events and as accompaniment in the Holy Masses as well as extemporary performances in the sign of happiness and friendship.
